Seems as it's raining and blowing a gale out there and I'm stuck in the house I thought I'd start 'stuck in the mud'
I got my 1:18th display case and decided to use that as a base. Under carriage came off the machine and it will sit like this.
I got the foam board out and knocked up a rough template which will get covered in a Dust/PVA mix. I will build it up slowly, probably add some vegetation and some bucket teeth claw marks!

The machine will need a good weathering! Will post more photos as it comes along.

Re: Stuck in the mud.
A bit more done this morning. Excavator added and realistic water added.
Just need to let that cure, weather the bucket and patch up the mud where it's come away.

Thanks Jeremy. that woodlands scenics realistic water is good stuff.
Still got the bucket to weather and patch up the mud on the edges where the masking tape pulled it off.

Talking of models and model men..........I haven't seen anything on here from Martyn Henley for a while. Is he (or are you Martyn) OK?
