Hi Trevor3 / Mark 57 Hi guys, When I click on the second listing of manuals (last line) the page comes up "File not Found". Any ideas what might be the problem as to why I cant down load the manual? I am trying to get the IH444 manual.
Thanks

While waiting for the service manual, here's the quick overview of what is quite a major stripdown.
1) Remove the seat and then the whole hydraulic unit that it was bolted to. You'll need to drain the hydraulic oil either by removing the short coupling hose on the right side top of gearbox or remove the filler plug (top of casting behind the seat) and syphon/suck out from there. Remove all the bolts (about 12 from memory) holding the hydraulic casting to the rear end casting - one of these you will only slacken as other parts get in the way... but you can then lift off the whole hydraulic assembly. It is heavy and probably stuck tight - I used an engine crane and lifted the whole back end off the ground before it would free.
2) Support the rear end, remove the wheels and fenders. Watch out for the lower castings that hold the fenders on as they will drop (not necessarilly immediately) and can land on your foot!
3) Unbolt the gears on the end of the axles. You'll need to remove the axles before you can get these out.
4) Unbolt and remove the axles. Again, these are heavy and it helps to have someone with you or an engine hoist.
