I was looking through youtube the other day for brass soldering tips, found this
http://youtu.be/6zriu7wIyhY
He uses flux/solder paste looks like a nice tidy wy to go on the fiddlier brass jobs. I have since bought a small tub off ebay and its brilliant, I have done the 1st set of handrails for my latest custom and the paste is a pretty tidy job without trying to juggle a soldering iron and a roll of solder.
Hope this will be of some help to someone?
Martin.
PS, I dont do trains

Re: Soldering with solder paste
Well, I have been using this now for a bit on the railings on my Komatsu build and its really good clean stuff. Just dab a little bit onto the joint and touch it with the solder iron.
Well worth getting a tub if you dabble with brass.

Re: Soldering with solder paste
I got mine from ebay
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/50g-Tub-Solder-Paste-Solder-and-Flux-/270532380756?pt=UK_Home_Garden_PowerTools_SM&hash=item3efcfc8854
I tried the usual high street stores and Screwfix but no-one had it.
