Hi.
Had to take head off. Took valves out and cleaned out Leaves and nuts. Recut valve seats and ground valves. New lift pump. Then just General messing about. Needs pump and injectors doing.
I’m guess there has been transmission fault. As the floor is missing from cab.
So any help would be Appreciated.
It seems to have T converter oil in. But lever plug seems to be in a different place. So not sure.

By the way does anybody know the date and history of this machine.

I would estimate from info available on CMN that the machine would have been built between late 1964 and 1967 or thereabouts.
If the cab floor is up then you may have the reason for abandonment. There would be ways of testing the transmission with the right equipment and information. There are so many possible problems with a torque converter /powershift transmission. Could include damaged converter, broken shaft, pump failure, leaking seals and or worn clutch packs. I would not have a clue where to start and also the availability of Twin Disc parts if specific to the model.

Where abouts are you based Jonah?
A Quick Google seems that Twin Disc is still operating in the USA but I think Weatherill used a British TD which may have been built under license or similar. Whether or not the British transmissions were the same as US I have no idea. Someone might know on here. It might also be worth emailing the Twin Disc company with and for some info. You never know! What is the set up with the engine/transmission/back axle? Does the back axle appear to be a Ford 5000 axle joined to the transmission? Just wondering if a replacement or repair cannot be sorted if a manual tractor gear box could be inserted.

Transmission oil is 10W-?? For T/C.
Now I have got it out. It rocks forward when you select forward when at max rpm. Same in reverse. But only rocks.

Well guess you have nothing to lose by changing the oil and seeing if there is any form of suction strainer but it could still be any number of things. They usually had 2 fwd and 2 reverse gears. Have you tried all 4 positions? Generally would be sluggish away in high gears.

12HB 2442 was built in 1965 and was one of the first built if you PM me with your e-mail I will send you some bits that might help
