thanks fred!! I was just trying and failiing to upload the very same clips! just proves they are still out there!, i did locate one machine but the owner bought it to cut up to build it into a tractor version previously mentioned! such a shame!

Hi Pete,
Looking at the slot in the ends of the half shafts, I think they may still be Fordson axles, but with flanges modified to take eight stud wheels.

County fitted half shafts with eight studs on to the later major based crawlers of the same era like the CD 50 so maybe matbro felt the need to improve on the major when they fitted the larger engine and also to cope with the increased loads and stresses carried?

Here are a few pictures from my Matbro Mastiff shovel,
It uses Fordson Super Major axles, a Brockhouse ITT gearbox and is powered by a industrial version of the Fordson Super Major motor.
At this moment I have almost finished the restoration.

I'll echo that Jeremy and that must be one rare beast! Is that a drop box on the end of the transmission and what is the main torque converter /shuttle? Thanks for posting.
