hi,
i have just bought a 1982 JCB 3CX white cab with BMC engine, i have had issues with the solenoid/starter motor not switching off on sporadic occassions, we have run a new cable from the starter switch to the solenoid and had the sol/starter checked out - all is fine, now wondering if the issue could be with the starter switch? any ideas?
also, when removing the starter I noticed the flywheel was wet, it is a converter model. - should the flywheel be wet or dry?
any ideas on where I could find an operators manual for this model?

not sure - the engine oil level is stable, i can see the engine oil and hydraulic oil dipsticks under the bonnet, any idea where would I check the transmission oil level and where do I drain and fill?

Perhaps someone else can help here but I think your second dip stick is the transmission dip. That can be checked after the first start of the day. Run on high idle then check dip or you can stop the engine and immediately dip. You will not get an accurate reading if dipping the trans from cold/stop. Important not to over fill and if it is slightly low only add a small quantity of torque fluid at a time.
