I remember the line of scrapers and Terex trucks parked there for a long while before the work started.
Do you remember one of the lads on a blade D10/9? Welsh lad called Bryn Conrad; he's still with them up in Scotland and now does all the cutting up!
I'll post a few shots of the job a bit later.....

Heanors might have built it back up to save space.....i mean it sounds extremely stupid as the things soo big! I mean i would take up less space than having parts of the machine spread about the place! They used to have a RH30 or would it have been a 90? fully assembled in there yard too....Not been down to there yard in an extremly long time so dont know if they have anything in now!

They used to have 2 RH90 face shovels, ex Banks mining in the yard.
If do call at the yard all you'll find is Asda now mate as they sold it to them about 2 years ago. Not too sure where they have moved to now.

Aye .. I remember the Terex trucks and Scrapers .. Moving the scrapers was a pain
Only D9's when i was there .. Does Conrad have a son Called Peter?

Conrads father in law worked there and his name was Peter, big lad too. Peter also has a son called Peter, another big lad too.

Yeh i saw that they had moved earlier, They've moved to Ilkeston now mate....just off JCT 25 of the M1. I had been told that the RH90 i saw in the yard had been working in a place called Tibshelf about 10 minutes away from me but not sure how true that is!

Ah .. My head hurts .. I remember Peter (The Son) Real well .. He was into Boxing and I'de go hit the bag with him now and then .. His dad operated a Dozer I know that ..
Also Remember a Bloke called Dye .. (English Dye we called him
He would go Nuts)
He operated a Fairly New PC300 that had .. Good machine that .. Helps us allot when it come to lifting engines in and stuff ..

Spot on Ross, Peter Jr is into his boxing. Was "English Dye" on for Parkhill or Jones Bros?
Sounds like you had your work cut out there with all the old kit being operated. Everytime I called on there there was something different parked up!

The RH9 I photographed was part of the fleet at the old Brymbo steel works in Wrexham which Parkhill Estates, a Cornes family company, didthe reclamation works.
The fleet contained a lot of old 777A/B/C from the Wimpey and Miller fleets along with some Terex TS24 scrapers.
The excavator fleet contained the white RH120C b/h which went up North and an old RH40 b/h. They also had a 375 which was last seen residing at the back of the coal stockyard at Broken Cross ready for the gas axe.
