People can only offer advice when they have it to offer, I have never sat in one of these machines let alone been able to drive different types to offer advice on which one is best.
If I did know anything about them then I would of answered your question as I am sure other CMN members would do likewise.

Re: Cat 939 trackloader
Looks a neat little loader but never seen one over here to make any comment on one.As you know I like tracked loaders. Most of the ones I have used or worked on are 951,933 and 955.
Re: Cat 939 trackloader
They are terrible, one of the worst small track shovels on the market ,hard to keep from overheating ,balance and power to weight is all wrong ,don't go on to soft stuff whatever you do ,also are prone to bending the bucket link arms if used in heavy digging
you could put it on par with a jcb 8060

Looks like a modern equivilent of a 941/951 or similar - but track loaders have all but been replaced by the much more versitile 360 degree excavator nowadays - hence the lack of feedback I run several trackloaders but for a completely different application other than site leveling.

I think build quality these days have been comprimised be it a fridge or a railway locomotive.Same goes for plant. If you look at the thickness of steel plate used on machines today to the classic machines of years gone by there is a dip in quality.Sign of the times.
Caterpillar have always built good machinery but they are under pressures to produce like any other company.

If you are going to buy a Cat trackloader then go for the 953-963, or even a 973! Never worked on the smaller ones so can't comment on them.
