Very interesting Craig.
My mate has bought 5 Cat 951's,two are ex BR,one has side tip bucket.Still looking for colour photos of BR ones to be used as a referance for when the British Rail one is restored.I can remember some detail when I worked on them, but that was 34 years ago.
Hope someone can dig up a photo at some time.
Cheers
Martyn

FIVE ! business or hobby ?
Wonder what colour BR plant was in sixties ? blood and custard ? I know all the engineering vehicles were dark green.

The one in the photo above looks to be plumbed for a side-tip bucket with those pipes along the boom.

Top pics again Craig. You are finding loads more than me. The pic below illustrates how much work 1 machine used to do back in those days. Nowadays there would be have half a dozen machines on a site that size.

I never really understood why these track loaders had such high front (ugly) windscreens but now when you see the type of tall buildings they tackled it all becomes clear
