Foden kept their old S39 cab going well into the 70s and offered to the mixer fleet with lighter running gear to keep up the payload.

Pete, I think it's more like Dudlai well in black country terms anyway  there is a distinct difference between the black country accent and the Brummie accent although most people would not notice, I personally hate these accents, possibly the worst in the country  makes you hate the sound of your own voice when its been recorded.

Two Albion Reiver mixers from a Rapier Hydraulic mixer brochure I have, reliably informed that the Hobbs one is a RE229 which had an AEC engine.
The RMC orange one is a Leyland Super Comet apparently.

I bet a driver receiving a LAD cab in 1970/1 would have been chuffed to bits! Especially when the Ergo cab was launched in '64.

That pic looks familiar, is it the Observers book?
Farr went bust in the 90s and at the time we were on a site where they were
also working.
We used their plant for months before the receivers caught up with it!
In fact we could have spirited it all away very easily.

Yes, definitely from the Observers book published in 1971, when you could buy a hardback book for the princely sum of 45p.

Those were the days!

My observer's book was 1966!

Not my photo but I love these old mixer photos! Is this the firm you were on about Jeremy, I know one was preserved by John Murphy and I believe is in RMC colours
