Nicks Blog | Digger goes JCB 3CX spotting

Post #1 by RSS Bot » Sun Oct 24, 2010 5:45 pm

For many years JCB has been associated with these multi-purpose machines and there cannot be many people who don't know what a JCB is. As a brand name it is as popular as Hoover is for vacuum cleaners.

Since its introduction in 1981, the JCB 3CX has undergone many upgrades over the years and although backhoe loader sales have stabilised over recent years, there are not many jobsites that don't have at least one machine performing a multitude of tasks.

These days of course the backhoe loader has to compete with the mini/midi excavator and dumper combination on a variety of jobs. But the backhoe loader is still a very useful tool to have on site with its high mobility and the ever expanding range of attachments that are now available.

This JCB 3CX, is a 2006 model run by Tool Care Hire from Exeter and is currently very busy on a road alteration job that I am working on at the moment. In this photo the machine is performing hammer work on the tough red sandstone that is often encountered around the Exeter area.
