Which colour Yellow

Post #1 by Bodysnatcher » Mon Dec 10, 2012 9:29 pm

Hi all, I need a definitive answer to the question Which Yellow for a 1963 JCB 3 (Fordson skid). Is it Ford Signal Yellow or Lemon Yellow or Yellow Chrome OR something completly different. Also whats the best primer to use? Was thinking of using high build Micaceous Iron Oxide. I need to know the colour as my daughter is going to get me it for Christmas :D

I use "buff " primer on yellow machines. We used to use "Tractol " JCB yellow on older JCB's,these days you have two pack and a lot more to chose from.

When i painted my 3c mk2 and Massey 40 i used a grey zinc primer, for the JCB i used Lemon Chrome in Cellulose, my massey i used an enamel and it has stood outside for 17 months and still looks as good as new.
