I have recently noticed a small leak on the back axle hub on the above JCB 3CX.
Would appreciate any advice on where you top the oil up and what type of oil is used.

There are two plugs on the rear of the centre axle housing. 32mm socket. Bottom for draining and top one to fill through. Fill til the oil runs out of the top one.You need an oil that is suitable for wet brakes. SUTO 10w30 or SUTO 15w40 or UTTO 10w30. I've had no issues in years with any of these but others say to use JCB Special gear oil...It may be called something else now!

Might pay to put a bar under the rear wheel when off the ground to check the wheel bearing. I found, admittedly years ago, that an UTTO off the shelf allowed brake chatter.i
I have also found similar with a Manitou based New Holland telehandler. UTTO made the brakes squark and the limited slip diff play up.

Thanks for advice. I believe SUTO 10W-30 is multi use and can also be used as engine oil, hydraulic oil and transmission oil ?

Also if SUTO 10W-30 is used as engine oil and transmission oil can it be used as a top up, hence can it be mixed with existing oil ?
