My hobby history in one picture...
Always interested in tractors, plant, trucks and trains. Why?
This is my dad with his digger, in County's dispatch yard where the trucks were kept, which was part of the old goods yard at Fleet station. All boxes ticked.

Nice little MF 40, what a cracking machine they were. Did he have the torque convertor transmission? That must be about 1978/80 at a guess?

Couldn't be certain,75 - 81 by the reg and the one that replaced it. Others were TC but his was always manual.

Narrow to late spring 76 on by the Ford Q cabs. Snow on the ground would suggest Winter 76/77 on. I seem to remember a huge dump of snow post Christmas '78. That might suggest early 79?

I don't think I can cover all my interests in one pic, but the Major does cover them (quite apart from being a main one in it's own way).
This pic can however show why:
Nice pic Rob.

Re: Understanding your addiction
Impressive! Before or after lunch?
Never understood though, first machine he ever had with a cab and heater of sorts, rear window open, door open, snow on the ground - blanket over the knees and no gloves.
I think it was this machine that had a hanger door dropped on it after it came off it's runners when a dumper driver clipped it. He didn't like cabs, never wanted a cab, but we didn't hear much about it after that!
Sandy, yep, been there. It's called passing the torch.

Re: Understanding your addiction
That was a late afternoon, after refitting the starter. It was also after school, it would snow not long after this, the last snow Billy ever saw (there has been subsequent snow but Billy hasn't seen it as he's been in the barn). If you haven't read about Billy I thoroughly reccommend you do https://www.fordsontractorpages.nl/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=8125
This pic is a couple of months later.
Billy's running is also responsible for getting me into this, and that's something I'm not too sure how to show for none of the very few videos we have is much good for sound. Nor am I totally sure how to post a video anyway, but if we do get a good one I might ask about it sometime.
