You might have seen this already, but if not here it is. Mr. MacGregor's alternator is not the usual Lucas or AC unit, it's a Bosch one, but I don't know where it came from. If anyone can get a manual for it that would be great as it really needs a big clean, it's Bosch part no. 9 124 47 6310.
It seems to fit the same Lucas or AC moulded plug, and it also appears to be the same size as the Lucas or AC one, but it appears to be quite different. I have had the plastic cover off and seen lots of dirt, but other than that the cover had FORD A153 moulded on the inside. I don't know if this is a common alternator, but I haven't found another one yet.
