I wouldn't trust any bearing that had seized once.
If they've seized, the grease has probably been washed out and there will be rust inside, so it'll never be good again.
If the waterpump and alternator share a belt, seizing the alternator may lead to an over heated block - a poor return for postponing an alternator rebuild.
