The question seems to have been adequately answered over on planttalk

Unless you do some changing around of hydraulic pipes on underside of levers you will never be happy, every time you slew right and curl bucket the levers will clash, it will also give a very unnatural feel no matter how you set your lever adjustment.
For my 1995 3cx I had to get some steel pipes from jcb which were designed for + pattern [vickary plant spares sent me a pdf via email] and a good local hose fitter, it now works fine.
Changing a 3cx to iso excavator pattern can be done just a little more effort than it first looks.
