Wonders will never cease, it's sunny today!

Anyway, first pic shows the handbrake (arrowed) cable where it comes out through the tub floor from the handbrake lever:

Image

Second pic shows where the handbrake cable is pinned back to the chassis by a welded on tab (again arrowed - no clip 18 on mine):

Final pic shows the mechanical handbrake caliper and the adjuster at that end of the system, note the thickness of the pads which are pretty much brand new on mine:

I couldn't get an angle to show the cable routing to the caliper, but rest assured it's not secured to anything just loops up and over the prop shaft. The Welded tab in the second pic is the only thing that constrains the cable in any way and it really is just somewhere to hang the cable out of the way.

Hi Sloobi,

Thanks a lot mate for your help.
Photos are a precious help.
I can clearly see where the cable is attached.
Your brake pads are brand new.

Well Done.

Yeah I fitted those pads back in September while I was replacing the gearbox output shaft seal to cure an oil leak.

Getting the JCB has been an excuse to add more toys, sorry tools, to my collection like a Dewalt 900lbft impact driver, and a 3/4" drive breaker bar, extension, a few adapters to go from 3/4" to 1/2" drive and a 3/4" 'jewelers' 750Nm torque wrench... ;)
