Hi
I have a MF244 crawler with a MF 220 backhoe
The slew motor needs new paddle seals, does anyone know if there are compatible seals as I cant locate genuine replacements anywhere.
If not is it possible to get new ones made?
The numbers on the body of the Dowty Motor are:
7548 DH 0162 771
1458 960 M91
Thanks in advance

Roger try somebody like Hayley Group they should be able to supply you with seals or get some made and they are not a million miles from where you live.

Crikey that takes me back. I did our old 220 over 40 years ago! Have you had the unit apart? The seals, IIRR, are rectangular. I wonder if any of the old massey dealers have any lurking on a dusty shelf.

Hi Essexpete

Hi
Anyone know what type of bolts these are, trying to work out how to remove them so I can get the seal out, I cant get at the back of them because they are holding the seal fitting to the main shaft.

I seem to remember struggling with those. I also seem to rember damaging a paddle slightly but fortunately in a way not to affect the sealing /operation. I remember the seals seemed expensive at the time.
With regard to studs I think I locked two suitable nuts on them and wound them out. (iirr!)
