Cat D5b
I thought I'd try a spot of dam building with the Cat, expected it to be quite slow but on a short distance haul the fastest way to shift the muck.

Re: Cat D5b
More pics in a day or two
The scraper was built to go behind a Case Magnum and it does go well and is very fast using the powershift traveling, but then it rained !. So we hitched it to the Cat, in third gear using the full 165hp what it looses in speed it gains in handling on the ramps and embankments.
The bowl is 3 meters wide x 2m x 1.5m so I guess that is about 8 yards or so, digging, transporting, leveling and compacting in layers all in one operation is pretty efficient with a short haul distance. Our PC130 was just used to tidy the corners and final grading of the slopes.
The only downside was the linkage hydraulic pump has not got enough flow to give a good response on the blade or ejector plate so an upgrade there will improve it.
