can you just take the part off and down to your local hydraulic place I would think that they would be able to help you and as Fred has said I reckon the screen filter if metal would be washable

Re: 1963 B414 no hydraulics
It looks like a bronze repair. Should I try to find a new one, try to weld it or will JB Weld work? If new, anybody have a parts list. It looks as though the part is not available. I think the part number is 3045509r21.

Okay I paid 180 to get the line silver soldered since the part isn't available. Installed the line and the hydraulics worked okay for a while then the oil started coming out of the top of the reservoir. I'm assuming it is a vent at the top of the tank because there is a cap that fits loose. Maybe I need to understand how this works first. The pump supplies pressure to the controls and the return line directs fluid back to the tank. How does the rear draw bar get pressure? I'm assuming the tank doesn't have pressure. Not sure how there could be so much fluid that it would come out the top. Also when this happens the hydraulics move very slow.

is the oil all froth when it comes out the top of the tank perhaps the delivery to the pump is getting blocked ? does it have a strainer before the pump ?

Hmm sounds like you've got a local gold spanner as well, I imagine you mean 180 pounds, and that's way too much ... unless they coated the entire pipe or had to travel to the tractor to weld the pipe, or had to remove the pipe as well as put it back.
Did you flush the pipe afterwards and check for scale?

If you haven't already done it, you need to clean the suction strainer. It is in the front of the resovoir where the suction pipe goes in. Remove the suction pipe and there should be a securing bolt holding the strainer in. Even if you fit a new pump, you need to clean the strainer. New pumps are available from several after market cos. The following link might help.
