I have just bought a ford 8600 4wd and im trying to find out as much i can about the conversion. As far as i can tell its a selene axle, similar to those used on a roadless.
Im interested if anyone knows numbers on how many were converted like this, also any service information on the 4wd system, like what oil should be used.
I am trying to locate the serial number so i can date the machine, and hopefully road register it. The only number i can find so far is B214842, as far as i was aware all ford serial numbers started with a 'C'.
Thought i would throw in a picture as well!
Many thanks

Re: Ford 8600 4wd
It's a nice looking tractor, I've always liked big Fords since the days that I occasionally got to drive an 8200. Is this an American machine and what engine does it have?

Re: Ford 8600 4wd
It is based on an american design, but i believe it was built in belguim. The engine is a 401df and the back end is the same as a tw. The 4wd drive is not ford, but a selene conversion the same as a roadless.
Anyone have an ideas about the serial number??
Thanks for the interest!
