They are much better wheels.
Apart from wheels it is not a bad little model considering it came out when the JCB 3 was a current product !
I was going to combine it with an Oxford Fordson Major Skid but never got round to it. (like many other projects , perhaps now is the time )

.... yes - it is a re-make of the old Airfix kit
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dapol-Model-Railway-JCB-Plastic/dp/B005FDX4KU/ref=sr_1_48?crid=3LCU4HPDF6MRG&keywords=dapol+model+railway+kits&qid=1585314952&sprefix=dalpol+%2Caps%2C148&sr=8-48
.... mine was a little cheaper from a local model railway shop

.... that’s it for a bit, have had to order some new paints ! all dried up, they don’t make them like they used to, only had that yellow since the early 80s ! ( wheels only held on with blue tack currently )

I never came across this model as a digger mad kid despite re-fighting the second world war with lots of other airfix kits !
I think it was marketed more to the model rail crowd as a Lowmac wagon and was never seen in Redcar Woolies or model shop
Caught up with it many years later when Dapol started selling it as a stand alone.

…. I have finally found the time to finish it off - would anyone like it for their model railway ? - I’m going to try and sell it to give a donation for the railway where I volunteer, I have three sets of the 3D printed wheels too if any one is interested ?
