No worries Ian.... there are plenty of versions of the Bryce pump..... I was worried this kit wouldnt fit, as the pump numbers on the plate were very worn. I just took a gamble.

All reassembled.... not that bad to do to be honest.

Must get it fitted to the dumper this weekend, so I can get it moving. Just waiting for a connector for the fuel hose, so I can replace it.

If it fires, I'm going to replace the engine oil, and filter, as its not been done for over 5 years. I know the recommended oil for a PH1 is a mineral oil, but anyone know what grade ? There are some threads that say don't use a 15W40 multi grade as it affects starting.

SAE 30 mineral oil is what you need. There are some 50 grade oils that also are acceptable and will depend on ambient temps as to which is best for you.

Found it at Stationary Engine Parts for £16.68 plus vat, for 5 litres. Hopefully it will be all running on the new oil and filter at the end of next week.

Next job if it runs ok, will be unsticking the brakes, then gearbox overhaul, then replacing the chain, and both pulley wheels. Add a service to the steering box, with a new steering wheel, and shes good for a few more years.

Well, that didnt go too well. Wouldnt start. Fuel pump and injector working great, with a good atomisation of fuel on each stroke. Didnt seem like there was much compression, and the decompression lever didnt seam to be making much difference. So I stripped off the head to find water in the valve area. Cleaned it all down, and thought the piston was a little slack, and moving about. Put it all back together, and still nothing, even with a bit of easy start.. Off with its head again, and took off the barrel. Piston is quite slack on the pin, but looks ok, rings look ok. Couldnt see any makings on it to say its oversize, so cant have ever been bored out. Some rust marks on the top half inch of the barrel, but I think that will hone out. I took the time to clean the head in the parts washer, and fill the valve ports with cleaning fluid. Very little if any liquid leaked, so looks like the valves are not rusted and damaged at all.

So, its been left apart, until I can get a new piston and rings...
