Questions on LINER roughrider 750

Post #1 by AbtsakkersLINER » Thu Apr 17, 2025 7:31 pm

I bought a rather old and very rusty dumper LINER 750 a week ago, cleaned it a bit and found out that a lot of work has to be done. But first a need a little bit of the history and specific on this dumper. The serial number of the dumper is 279479. The serial number of the lister is 4437LD2Z10, HP=7, RPM=1800. Can anybody give me some info on both items. The dumper is missing clutch+gearbox+coupling. Who can help me on these items ? So may question is how to get manuals from dumper and lister. Years ago a restored an SAMBRON dumper (french).are these questions to general or must I be more specific, it is the first time a join this kind of forum. Already thanks a lot, Frans Joseph Brekelmans, Netherlands.

Hi all,

This is my first post, so hello, and I hope to learn lots from here, and maybe contribute where possible.

Just out of curiosity, where did you find the Serial Number for the dumper? Mine doesn't seem to have one? I can find the plaque on the Petter PH1 engine.

Thanks in advance,

Del

Not my area of expertise, but the gearbox is almost certainly a Newage 40Mxx

Hi Delalio, we found a brass plate with the Serial Number of the dumper. This plate is fixed with two nails on the horizontal beam in the middle of the dumper beneath the bucket. Let me know if you want a picture. BR Frans Joseph Brekelmans

Hi Frans,

I have found a plate I think where you described. It says: “68-U05-857”. Does this sound right?

I have already located the engine plate for the Petter PH1.

I can’t see any number for the gearbox. Not sure where that would be located either.

Thanks in advance.

The number in mine dumper is 279479. The LISTER engine is a LD2, two cilinder 7HP. I bought the dumper without gearbox and coupling, that was the reason it was so cheap. It is hard to find a secondhand one. Now I am working on an hydraulic system:pump on the lister and a motor on the differential.

Converting to hydraulic sounds very interesting. You could even add a piston for controlled tipping out too!

If you already have the parts (or if you want a challenge), then fair enough.
This is a common gearbox in the uk, so shouldn't be hard to find if you want the easy path.
