Brakes are done, luckely the bad brake fluid only took out the cylinder and didnt get into the diff with the brakes, we disconnected the brake line towards the front diff and cleaned it out and the first part was luckely mineral oil and not synthetic
The little propshaft between the gearbox and transfer box is fixed as well so the dumper is looking a lot better already!

All fluids and filters done, now i will see to order the correct seals for the leaks i am having and i think the bad idling is because of the fuel stopper hinge on the fuel rack that is worn.
Took it out for a drive today and it does have plenty of power, pulled my trailer behind it which was almost 3 ton so not bad at all. It does smoke a bit so i am hoping i can fix that with some diesel additives to clean out the injectors etc.

Once it is up to its full revs it stop smoking so thats good, it is in between it can be a bit smokey. But i think that is all to do with the fuel rack needing a tune up, that has to wait though i need it next week for two weeks.

The more i drive it the better the engine is starting to run, it idles better now with less hunting

I have been working with it for a few days, no major problems
The only thing is when braking under load they do make a grinding noise, so i'm guessing they will need replacing...

Yes with oil that is specific for oil immersed brakes. When braking without any load it is fine but when the bucket is full and i brake it makes a good grinding noise.

I have had brake chatter on dumper axle, Manitou Spicer axle and the old JCB powertrain brakes. I used a Q8 UTTO that was fine in Ford and a Case tractors that made the Manitou axles sound like it was disintegrating. (It also upset the limited slip diff). I used a gear oil designed for limited slip diffs which partly helped. The old JCB we used JCB's own brand, again it helped but was still noisy. Our old Sanderson telehandler has outboard hub brakes, they have always been noisy (and poor).
I don't know why this should be as the tractors have always been OK.
