Here's the next set - we're at Banks Mining's Carrington Farm OCCS in 2002 at Smalley - Derbyshire which incidently was across the road from UK Coal's currently operating Lodge House site. The pictures shown are of a Salem Coal Auger, used for mining from the high wall. It 'walks' on hydraulic skids from one bore to the next.

Here comes the next set - Part 1

These are at the UK Coal Forge & Monument site at Ironville - Derbyshire - all taken in Spring 2002. The site was separated into 2 halves by the main Erewash Valley Railway line, with all coal being removed by rail from the refurbished Codnor Park Sidings. Parts 1 & 2 are taken at the Forge half of the site which was on the former Butterley Company Forge & Wagon Works site. Both site sections used the same plant - O & K RH120C & 30E face shovels and Cat 777C Trucks.
