Overburden Job for Chepstows Komatsu PC600-8

Post #1 by Jim M » Fri Mar 30, 2012 9:29 pm

Pictures of Chepstow Plant new Komatsu PC600-8 that arrived on Tuesday to undertake a 12-14 week overburden removal job for Sibelco Minerals at there Preston Manor ball clays site near Newton Abbott ,Devon. Along with the Excavator there is a reasonably new Komatsu D65ex which has been stripping topsoil prior to main job starting. There are 7 Volvo A40F ADT's being used to carry away material as there's a fair distance between the dig and the tip site.

Even though it's badged a dash 8 it's strictly a dash7 due to the fact it still has the dash 7 cab! Komatsu have just released a pc800-8 with new cab and something else extra that eludes me, they are also launching a pc700-8 too compete with the 374d and ec700c,I think the true dash 8 is called the pc650. There's a video on vantagetes YouTube page of one!!!

Nice looking machines though and deffinately the sort of kit Im desperate to get on!!!!!
