Looked an old 580C as well.

Here's one of Hy-mac's later offerings made in 1989 at Pleck Road, Walsall during the Brown Engineering Hy-mac period. This 141C is a straight machine that has been owned by the same people from brand new.

Makes a big difference if it's owner driver. i'm assuming that the excavator is.

Norm, apparently the owners were Hy-mac users but this one appears to have spent many years on a farm.

The 141C looks a lot more modern than my ''same age'' JCB 814S. How old was the design at that point?

No not far from where it was made in Walsall.

Pete, the design was the last guise of the 121/141 models which were to have been replaced by the Synchron models had the later Kennedy era of the company continued, the basic design was started under the NEI phase of the company history around 1986/7 just before NEI sold them, the 141C was made from 1988 to 1992 of which 84 were made, think this is only the second one I have managed to photograph.
