My contractor who was 100% loyal to the Cat brand was forced into buying a Hitachi 470 but also saved himself £60k in the process. This has been a huge mistake by the Cat dealership and suspect that this may not be the last orange machine to join the fleet. I should have some more photos of this big orange machine in action very soon :)

60K really?

Honestly - I thought you could only save big time on a Doosan or XMG or something but this saving is for real :o

Heres some more pics of the new 470 I've working for me - she did sport a bucket for a couple of weeks untill another 345 cat became available and now the big breaker has been fitted. :D

These same pics should appear in Northern Irelands Equip mag next month

The thing is Martyn when you have such a wonderful array of machines at your disposal there is this thinking that "I must get a drive in that tomorrow" and like any great procrastinator tomorrow never comes! So I keep on promising myself the odd 15 minutes here and there and will eventually get round the lot. :P

Yes the photos turned out well and have to say these are the first photographs ever that I've published that haven't received as much as a highlight - to get a day like that this year was a miracle. :D

I was going to send you some model rain clouds next week just to make the models more authentic and real looking lol:

Fantastic bits of kit the new hitachis! Before i was on plant i never liked them for some reason...but i trained on a dash 3 ZX210 n i love them now. I think they are definately one of the best 360 makers out there along with komatsu and volvo.

How many hours are on the clock now? And how does the operator like it?

There's a couple of week of break in hours on the clock - but to be honest the operators are totally spoilt by new machine that when I ask them "well? what do you think?" they usually just shrug their shoulders and grunt "sok" or something like that
