Hello Stuart
Memories, when we used to come back from the seaside trip to Barry Island when I was about 7 or 8,I used to get my dad to make a diversion past the Cardiff depot in Cowbridge road Cardiff, to see new machines parked up outside the front of the depot.
Thanks for posting that picture as it brought back many happy memories of my childhood and my interest in Cat machines.
Any more pictures of the Bowmaker Cardiff depot?

Thanks for posting Stuart,
The Cardiff branch photo brings back some fond memories for me.I was the very last mechanic there before they knocked it down.
I was completeing a rebuild of a 3512 engine for a Cat 785B for Wimpey Mining at Ffos Las o.c.c.s in Carway West Wales, before it was to be shipped up to Cannock for dyno testing.
My tool box was the last to leave on the old Ford Cargo truck.
Thanks,
Mark.

Mark, have you any photos of your time at that depot ?
Stuart,Could you send me any photos you have of the Cardiff depot so we can put them in the Caterpillar club magazine. Thanks
Some photos taken of the Depot at Llantrisant when it replaced the Cowbridge road Cardiff depot.
I tried to get that 2 ton dozer with no luck years ago.It did attend many of our shows.

Hello Martyn,
Sorry its taken so long to reply,Ive never been in this section of the forum before.
I and and my mate Sandro Cronin were the last 2 to leave Cowbridge Road.
I was finishing off rebuilding an engine for a Cat 785B for Wimpeys at Ffos Llas O.C.C.S.
I took my Camera into work that week and Sando took lots of photos of me and the premises.I didnt go to take the film out of the camera until a few weeks later and found that the film was missing,I was so pissed off even to this day,I don't know where it went?
They would have been ideal pictures for you.
Regards,
Mark. :dizzy:

Hello Mark
Thats a great shame.Must be some photos some where.I will ask Paul Pengelly at Finning to see if he has a photo record of the Cowbridge road depot.
