Hi
I am David Madden living and still working in the north east of England. I started out in haulage in 1966 aged 26 and progressed to plant hire, off site muck shifting and demolition. My son Mark took over our company when I reached 65, though I still work for him on a part time basis. Nowadays we only carry out demolition work, specialising in internal, partial demos. Not as interesting as the old days though when we operated a small fleet of tippers, tracked and wheel loaders, 360 deg excavators and an old Smith 21 complete with demolition ball. I can walk around Newcastle and always be close to a job site we have worked on over the last 49 fascinating years
