Hi, Folks.
I have just posted a photo and request for information about this machine in the grader forum in response to a request from Taylor Lambert wanting to know if I had ever discovered any more information about it. The information that I have is sketchy at best and not confirmed to date.
It was apparently built for clearing work on the Cross-Florida Canal Project (since abandoned) in about 1957. I have been told that it was built for and maybe even by a company called Gregg, Gibson and Gregg of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. There used to be some photos of a smaller version of this machine in the Florida State Library under Cross Florida canal but I couldn't find them last time I looked a couple of years ago.
I do not believe that it was built by LeTourneau in spite of the fact that they built the wheeled jungle crushers.
If anybody has any information on this beast, I would love to hear it.
Thanks in anticipation.
