8014 CTS [T3]
Hi all..Joined because have just encountered this problem..Been running all morning, hydraulics stopped working, turned machine off, came back and nothing,no dash lights, nothing on the key electric fuel pump working, but no ignition lights or starter and 2 or 3 fuses blown. Ive replaced fuses and dash lights are back on but not turning over on starter position..
I bridged the starter and it runs but still no hydraulics at all..
Any ideas ?
And can someone tell where the dead man switch is on the armrest
TIA

I think your machine is more modern than my 8018, but have you checked any of the multi pin connectors? My one has a large locking type connector under the dash, accessed through the bonnet. To be fair it does sound like you have had a short out somewhere to blow the fuses. Tou might have to tilt the platform/cab to get a better look.

Funny you should say that..I'm beginning to suspect the immobilizer..the fuel pump has long been bypassed with a toggle switch which you turn on before turning over, but from the wiring schematic it looks like the armrest dead man switch for the servo and the starter motor come from the immobilizer..These 2 things are not working..although if i turn the key on I have lights and the machine will start bridging the starter but still no hyraulics..dead man switch tests ok pinning the wires and testing at the arm rest..Also there is a burnt smell around the area of the immobilizer..

You can find the date of your model on the jcb site if you register and still have the plate with the serial No. on the machine..

I know the age of mine, it was a low houred 7 year old. Still not high hours really but scarcely can believe I have had it for nearly 10 years. The JCB mini seems to get a bashing by regular plant operators but other than a few niggley problems, it has been a useful machine. There is some play in the old thing but it will run all day on a thimble, has good reach for a mini and is quite fast.
