Re: Dumper bucket holes
Wow what a great forum this is ! All the information hints and tips I have received just for the sake of asking are fantastic . It seems like the advice is to use stick for this job . I have a small stick set which I started on but got the mig because I thought it may be more versatile . I also got ...

Re: Dumper bucket holes
Thank you both for your advice . It seems that the best way to go would be to remove the bottom of the bucket completely . Good advice re the extra braces to weld to . I just hope this is not beyond my ability as I'm still very much a novice welder . The bucket is on the verge of being unusable anyw...

Dumper bucket holes
I have a thwaites Orion dumper and it's starting to wear very thin in the bottom of the bucket . It's already got a few holes so I pretty much have to do something before it goes completely . I don't really want to try and patch the holes because of the thinness of the metal I don't think that would...

Re: Scrap value jcb 3c111
I would urge you not to scrap it . Much better to sell it on if you don't want to use it . Someone else might be glad to restore it and use it . I make you right about the convenience of a modern mini digger but for a bit of old lugging you will find these old diggers hard to beat . I use mine in co...

Re: 3cx reverser
I've got to replace the seals in one of the stabiliser legs on my 3c 11 . After looking at what you had to do to get the pins out I'm really not looking forward to it ! Looking at the way you did achieved it has given me some ideas and pointers if the pins play up . Don't think I've ever read a post...

Re: Thwaites Nimbus Dumper Gearbox
Àhh now the pictures are clearer and in context I can see the box is slightly different to mine . I definitely have a newage gearbox and my dumper is definitely an Orion . However as I said most of these gearboxes have basically the same layout so I would wait until you split it and you may be able ...

Re: Thwaites Nimbus Dumper Gearbox
Are the internals in the box the same as the 40m Manuel that you have already downloaded ? Maybe wait and see when you get it opened up . These old dumpers often had parts interchanged over the years so the gearbox might have been swapped . Think the basic internal layout of gearboxes was very simil...
