Re: BANKS Mining new RH120
Are you referring to the newly started opencast site just across the road from Cramlington/Nelson industrial estate? I phoned up banks about a site visit and they said I'd be more than welcome; they'd let me know when to turn up but that was months back and I've heard nothing since. I was hoping the...

Re: Volvo & Samsung excavators
Hmmm hopefully I have a few pics to contribute here  Firstly one of the machines being used to dismantle the former Swan Hunters shipyard up here at Newcastle, they have 2 excavators which were somehow owned by the shipbuilding companies. A couple of Poclain rehandlers pics
Well isn't it always the case, go for years without seeing any and a few turn up at once...like waiting for a bus really. My first contribution to the pictures on these forums! http://www.flickr.com/photos/25517093@N06/2875412641/ Possibly a Poclain 90, fitted with an electromagnet http://i2....

Re: Smalleys on barges
A 6808 amphibious shallow river dredger, incredible!! Never thought any of these would still be around. Excellent pictures, thanks for posting.
ONe of these machines (although locally modified) was at work in the 1970's on the Cromford canal restoration project.

Re: Hymac Excavators
There was also an 1180, but I do not think it was an excavator, more of a specialist crane-build if I recall correctly. More a purpose built rig than the crane jibs mounted on the 480/580/1080 excavators. Not sure if the wheeled machines had any such variant?

Re: Hymac Excavators
Hi Gavin, and a big welcome to CMN .. If you know of a 1290 or 1280 please let me know, even a 880 would do .. Martyn I wasn't even aware there was a 1280. The biggest Hymac I ever saw was a 181B loading 8x4 road trucks with spoil from a building site, around the early 1990's I think. T...

Re: Hymac Excavators
I've been reading through this thread and looking at the pictures with a great deal of interest. I've seen quite a few Hymac's over the years, including the later 121C and 141C which were produced during the NEI-Hymac era. Never seen a Synchron though. The last Hymac that I saw was quite possibly a ...
