Re: Is this a Chaseside ??

I reckon its a Chaseside SL1000 or SL1250. The loader arms and linkages plus body features seem to match up quite well with Chaseside machines looking at pictures from the few brochures I've looked up on Google images. Good condition for a machine that probably dates from the mid 1970's?

Re: What type of machine is this??

Looking at the few brochures I have, I do believe the machine is a Hymac 370. Now I was always under the impression that the Hymac 370 was the same as the Whitlock but it appears that the outriggers on the Whitlocks were at an angle and the Hymac's are entirely vertical.

Re: Cranes Museum

I've been looking for a spec sheet on the Tadano SuperZ 220 crane for some time and to find even a mention of it is something. Even Tadano themselves don't have any material on it to hand, but its sure nice to see it being listed. Maybe there's hope yet?

Interesting find on eBay, Benford forklift

Completely new one on me, Benford always meant site dumpers and compactors to me not forklifts but here we are. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=301188592042&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:GB:3160 The cab looks almost like what you'd expect to find on a fighter jet. :wtf:

Re: Amphibious excavator

Wow now that is a nice tool for those tidal/marsh/wetland jobs, very nice. I guess that the tracks are adjustable for ease of transport?

Seen a few clips on youtube of machines like this in operation, very cool.

Re: Priestman Excavators

Brilliant picture of the 2-15 there Craig, so that's two Priestman machines that still survive in the York area. The Wrights (now Wrights of Crockey Hill Ltd) still exist as a plant/skip/dump truck hire so they may well have some other goodies tucked away! Is the Priestman actually in their yard or ...

Re: Cat Track Shovels

Well its certainly caused quite a stir!

I gather that it is actually a 941 of "some" description then?

Re: Fiat dozer, might be a BD14?

I don't have much in the way of brochures for the pre-FiatAllis machines but I'll have a flick through and see if I can shed any light on this dozer.

Identifying a machine from a picture is quite a skill, it seems!

Re: JCB Excavators Old & New

Just found this 814 Super (early version with the white cab) on an eBay search this morning. Looks in good condition! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JCB-814-SUPER-TRACKED-DIGGER-1990-14-TON-2-BUCKETS-PERKINS-ENGINE-VERY-CLEAN-/301156734634?pt=UK_BOI_Industrial_Tools_Construction_Tools_ET&h...

Re: Cat Track Shovels

Never heard of a 941C before. As far as I am aware, the 941B was replaced by the 943 rear-engined machine? Unless it was a prototype which never made it to mass production or a short-lived production model? Very strange... I remember hearing about a 973 being at the Brewery demolition site in Newcas...
