Re: International Harvester motor scrapers in the UK
I don't know what model that is in the picture but I do remember some 295 Payscrapers working in one of the chalk pit near Snodland in Kent, I was sent there as a service engineer to take the gearbox out of one of them. There were also some elevating scrapers bought into the country which I think we...
Re: Dozer
Hi Foxy, It's an easy job to do, reverse the machine up onto a couple of sleepers and go underneath , either side of the drawbar there are plates held in place by five 9/16 headed bolts. Remove the plates and you will see the end of the brake bands, at the ends of the bands you will see the adjuster...

Re: does anyone know what this is
Robert is right ,the tractor is the IH 2275 with a Wain Roy back actor. The cab could have been made by Cab Craft I think they came from Penkridge in Staffs, they made a range of cabs for IH machines back in the 60s and 70s. Peter.

Re: B100 Drott Restoration Project
HiJimmy, The 50hp BD264 engine fitted to your B100 is the correct engine for this machine and is the same engine as fitted in the BTD6 so the head gasket will fit. The head, cylinder block and crank are the same, the fuel injector pumps fuel filters and water pumps changed from the BTD6 to the B100s b...

Re: Drotts on demolition
When I was an apprentice at Saville Tractors back in the sixties the company arranged visits to both the I H factory at Doncaster and to Rubery Owen at Darlaston. At the time of our visit B T D 6s were being built, the ones that were for agricultural use or were to become bulldozers were made with s...

Re: B100 engine removal
Hi Simon, Last nights post was done in a bit of a rush and I should have said that you will need to remove the four bolts either side that hold the loader frame to the rigid beam. These are usually well rusted in place and we used to burn the heads off and knock them down through the beam. It is als...

Re: B100 engine removal
Hi Simon, remove the six bolts that hold the saddle to the main frame (beneath the clutch housing) then jack up the front of the machine until there is enough clearance to remove the bolts.

Hi Martyn,
They had a small fleet of IH 175 loaders, 1960s -early 70s I seem to think.

Re: Final drives BTD 6 - TD 6
Hi Tom, This has got the grey matter going, I last worked on IH machines in the early eighties. Anyway starting with the main clutch, the BTD6 had a thirteen inch three cam Borg and Beck unit the TD6 clutch if I remember correctly had a twelve inch two cam fitted. The early BTD 6 had five forward sp...
