Re: New purchase... Nimbus ?
Spoke to David today, and to have the shoes relined, its about £60. Might as well cut out the middle man and go directly to the brake company. Just had a nose underneath at the propshaft, and found the UJ next to the gearbox is totally shot. I have seen these available at LSE, so thats another thing...

Re: Thwaites Alldrive gearbox whine.

Re: New purchase... Nimbus ?
Some useful links I've found so far, for information or manuals. Also found a Sprite / Nimbus manual after quite a bit of searching. I've attached it on this post. http://www.stationaryengineparts.com http://www.lsengineers.co.uk http://www.winget.co.uk http://simplybearings.co.uk/shop/ for oil seal...

Re: New purchase... Nimbus ?
Its far too bashed up for a concourse one Craig... I got it on Saturday morning, just to shift some soil into my adjacent land. I did know that it needed a little work doing on it, but the last owner was a little economical with the truth in describing it as "needs TLC, and it has a small oil l...

Also had a look at the handbrake lever. Disassembled it to find the internal spring was in pieces. Ive got a box full of springs so fitted a new one... Perfect. Gave it a strip down and a coat of primer. Will give it a top coat tomorrow.. http://i893.photobucket.com/albums/ac137/tillywolves/daisy%20...

Re: New purchase... Nimbus ?
Thanks Pete. Has anyone got any info on the manufacturer of the front axle ? I need to have a look at replacing the bearings and seals. Also, there is a bad oil leak off what I think is the reduction box, that drives a cog, that then drives the chain to the clutch... Its oozing out, and looks a bit ...

Re: New purchase... Nimbus ?
Had a few hours on "Daisy Dumper" as my daughter has named her. Decided to remove the front nearside wheel, and have a look at the brakes, to see what sort of state they were in. Undid the brake adjuster, and slipped off the drum, to find the shoes had worn down to the copper rivets, and t...
