Re: 3CIII - changing hydraulic strainer

Thanks Tom, that makes good reading. I haven't changed my filter yet but it's on the 'to do' list.

Re: 3c mk111 brakes

Seal kits should be available from JCB dealer.

I'm not sure if they are Leyland parts (can someone advise??). If so, Silver Fox Tractor Spares stock a seal kit that might be compatible.

Re: 3c mk111 brakes

Sam

I've got a /5 and changed the seals in my master cylinder a few years ago. The JCB part number for the seal kit is 15/105001.

Up to machine No. 138621/5 had dry brakes and from then on they had oil immersed brakes.

Hope this helps.

3CIII - changing hydraulic strainer

I plan to change the strainer but before doing so would welcome advice.

When removing the drain plug before taking off the cover plate to access the strainer, does this drain the entire contents of the hydraulic tank?

Would be useful knowing how much oil I might expect to flow out before I start.

Re: JCB 3C Mk3 Chassis Number Location

Mark I'm only aware of the numbers being stamped on the silver plate but will wait for others to confirm this. If it's of any help, I needed to obtain a replacement V5 for a 3CII once. I wrote to JCB with the various numbers and they confirmed the date of manufacture and that the numbers I quoted we...

Re: ebay 3c

3c3 with 4 in 1 and extending rear arm .... nice!

Does anyone know whether the Perkins engines were installed in this model? I thought it was only Leyland 4/98 units?

Re: jcb 3c3 powertrain

I believe that Mobil Delvac 1310 isn't produced anymore. It's a 10W monograde oil and thicker than ATF.

After speaking to local JCB dealer, they have advised that the modern equivalent is;

4000/0205D - Torque converter oil in 20L
