Re: komatsu WA380

Hi Stu, yeah, those little 380s are pretty nice machines. We have a half dozen or so of them, and the only to complaints I have with them are the two levers like you mentioned.....but you get usedto them pretty quick. And the fact that I always seem to hit my knees on the steering column if I tilt i...

Re: Bucyrus RH120E

I agree Gavin, the old O&K white and red is the best looking scheme on those machines, but dammit, progress is ruining things again...LOL. As for Cat buying Bucyrus, they haven't bought them yet, since the deal hasn't closed. But it's a pretty safe bet that all will go through now that the BI sh...

Re: Bucyrus RH120E

Aye well ... They love to rip ladders off them RH120's ... Even the little one on the track frames. Any Idea how much them fancy ladders cost to replace? Or How much the down time costs to fix them ... I don't know what a ladder system is worth for our 400s, but it's $50,000 for the little 5 foot l...

Re: New Cats for Celtic Energy

Hi Mark, The last numbers I saw for the Liebherr trucks were around 71 or 72% and I believe were around a couple of weeks old. The 797s average over the whole series was running around 78 or 79%, the 930Es were around 83 to 84% and the 793s were around 92 to 93%. That is a bit misleading though, sin...

Re: New Cats for Celtic Energy

Hi Andy, I definitely agree on the maintenance points. I haven't seen any failures on the booms or sticks on the Hitachis we have around here, but I have seen one Komatsu with a broken boom. I know the contractor with the EX5500 I mentioned is definitely better with their maintenance program than th...

Re: Esco bucket models........

Man, would I ever like to get my hands on a set of those. I'd love to get a set of the Nordberg crusher models as well, but I can never seem to find anything like these when I am looking for them.

Re: New Cats for Celtic Energy

Hi Stu, it must be nice to have such new machines....LOL. The RH200 I spend most of my time on is running right around 107,000 hours, and she's getting about 86-87% right now.

Living that close, you must have been able to hear the sound of those RH200s. Best sounding machine ever!

Thanks for the pictures.

Re: New Cats for Celtic Energy

Hi Paul, That sounds a whole lot better for the Liebherr shovels and hoes than we get out of their trucks. Our fleet is a major disappointment, running at around 70% as an average. I'd love to post pictures for you guys, but work doesn't allow us to carry cameras, or post any pictures without public...
