Re: Weatherill exhaust manifold

Post #271 by Steve 01263 » Sat Aug 16, 2014 2:27 pm

Hi and Help
I have a Weatherill and it needs a new exhaust manifold.
On that plate in the cab it states,
machine no. L 625-9-650
Engine no. 7 406906X
I have no idea what engine it is so any help in identifying it and locating a manifold would be very much appreciated.
Thanks
Steve

With luck John Tutt will be along and be able to tell you the year of machine as well as engine. IIRR the L62B had a Leyland 400 and later on a Perkins 6.354.

Hi Steve And Hi Pete
Machine L62B-9-650 was built with Leyland UE401 engine Clark transmission and Centrax axles and was built near the end of 1974. it was a standard leyland manifold

Hi John Hi Pete
Thanks for that. You guys certainly know your stuff.
Next question, so where do I get an exhaust manifold for a Leyland UE401?

Time for a Weatherill, this one on ebay looks like a 22H. There were several overlaps in the Weatherill range and I am not sure why. John T ?

Hi Pete
The machine is a 22H with narrow cab in its loader form but it could take a Sherman Trencher
