Hitachi EX1800

Some photos when I use to work on these, These were taken at Plenmellar OCCS Near Haltwhistle in Cumbria, A few years back now

Nice pics mate,had those Barford adts?conveyor down for coal,was the Hitachi there because a Demag 'went over'?or is my memory wrong?

Had a D8 up there for nearly a year with Tommy McCullough.He bought it.Took one of those 785's for a load or two.I don't recall the big H.Two Demag 185's were the prime movers.Mowlem Mining I think.Ward Bros and Banks had D8,D9 kit.Lots of 245's with D400's and A35's did the first strip belonging to Levack around 1992.Was back up there around 1995

was up there bout 01/02 site being re instated,very remote,some great wildlife and birds of prey,yeah Mowlems site, had some Barford adts for coal hauling,had to use conveyor down to bardon mill for coal,saw big dumpers coming off site on low loaders tight fit on those roads!

we put them in there for the last part of the backfill

yeah tight roads we had fun getting the low loaders up there tarmac was melting and wheels spinning, gcs johnsons took them in heavier lumps two units coupled together to get up top
