Massey Ferguson 135

Being a bit of a newbie on here I thought id test the water , I have always fancied restoring an 1970`s MF135 , I learnt to drive on one at the age of 7 years old and drove one every school holiday helping out on my Grandfathers farm , But that was many many years ago and the passion to restore and own one has always stuck with me .

So the question is where is the best place to find one ,Idealy I guess hidden away in an old barn somewhere . Another thing how easy is it to obtain parts for these old classics and how reasonable are the prices . And finaly was the production of these tractors much the same or were there variations over the years , If so what would be the one to go for , I seem to remember some had rounded wings and others had squared off wings with grab handles built in .

Hello Jason, I subscribe to a magazine called 'Old Tractor', published by the Kelsey Publishing Group. Its a great magazine and at the back of each issue is a Classifieds section where lots of old tractors are advertised, such as your interest, the MF-135 and lots more besides. There are other Classic Tractor mags available and can be found in a good WH Smith outlet. Best of luck with your endeavours.

As dave said,there are a lot of mags around with tractors for sale.The MF 135's are making a pretty high price these days.

I guess the classifieds are going to be full of restored machines at a premium price , Im looking out for a non running wreck somewhere , I must be mad I spend enough time in the garage building my off roader , The missus will love me when I turn up with a rusted wreck on the low loader

i used to play around with older series l/r ,s built a few up from bits
still have a 1958 swb at the farm waiting to be brought back to life its been sat for about 4 years now i just don,t have the time

Was out on a callout last night in Newport,On the way to Uskmouth powerstation I saw a very original 135 in a barn.
I will have to carry a camera in the van with me as I also saw some interesting dozers including a Terex at the powerstation.

The 135 is on the road to Uskmouth powerstation.About 1/2 mile from the Nashpoint turn off.It can be seen from the road.I am based at East Usk railway depot Newport.

I was chatting to a guy on site in Warminster today about the 135 , He saw one at a farm sale , no wings , rotton body work , no water pump , a right dog of a thing and went for £1500 , Unbeliveable
