Its looks identical to the mk3 from the back but the loader arms on this machine would be appropriate to the mk2.

4/65 bmc on nuffield, Serial numbers do they start with the engine no followed by tractor id. no's ... so would engine no. say 122 be 65b122 11112. Are the spares for this engine readily available. Any help would be appreciated.
Other query on machine no. all series 3 start with 3, would a 3 just be 3 or 3A.

3 mark 11 Finally arrived, difficult to take off transport and manoeuvre up the 100+meter drive as (no hydraulics) front bucket had to be lifted by my 3c3, no steering as hydraulic fluid had bled from the unit and the cylinder head was in the cab. However relief all numbers on the cab plaques matched tractor skid, and engine. Will post photos soon.

There was actually a 3Mk2 for sale In Belfast a few weeks ago. I meant to save the pictures. It had the proper JCB 2Mk1 boom and 3Cmk1 dipper and it had the different lights in the cab just like the one in that black and white picture.

Gear box casting says feb 69, that would tally with 38td leyland engine installed, metal cab, on the nuffield skid. (Serial machine number falls into 69 as well), All the numbers match with the plates in the cab. Late 3 11.
Start on engine soon.

Whether its a good example of 3Mk2 or a bad example of a 3Mk2 all that matters is its in serious good order. Dont worry about engines. A good engine can be bought for peanuts. That cab on the other hand looks excellent.

What a lovely straight machine you have got yourself there all of the tin work looks great even the cab is good, the engine should be a doddle what is exactly wrong with it and will you replace it or rebuild it, please keep us posted with updates.
