Massey transmission oil ?

Post #1 by bletchmonster » Thu Aug 04, 2011 11:28 pm

Hi. Could anyone advise on what type of oil goes in the transmission of a Massey 14H rough terrain forklift. I bought the machine off a bloke that it would seem never knew. My local massey tractor dealer deemed it industrial, and thus it might as well have come from mars. It is a four speed torque converter trans.
Thanks. ED

I am only guessing here but i have an MF40 digger with the instant reverse transmission and according to the book it is ATF dexron auto transmission fluid have a look on E bay and put in dexron in the search there are two types one is about £55.00 the other which is the synthetic version is £74.00 for 20 or 25 litres if your gearbox is the same as the 40 you will need 27 litres. I warmed my machine up then drained the oil and changed the filter also took the sump plate off the bottom of the gearbox as there is another flat type filter in there you will need to wash it out and hopefully you will not have any metal particles in it, good luck.
