Dont seem so popular as the Cat offerings in the UK, however, Kane Haulage have a Liebherr tracked shovel and 360 working alongside the A421 Bedford/Junc13 M1 if anyone is passing.

Liebherr track loaders used to be alot more popular around here then they are now. I have seen quite a few of their smaller shovels going back a few years; the majority of which being the older 611 and a few 621's. The firm Owen Pugh used to have a few 611's kicking around on various residential sites. Probably talking about 10 years ago though!

The most recent sighting I can recall was last year. Must have been not far from Southampton docks, on the back of a low loader heading north. I don't remember what model number but not a huge machine. Cat 943 size if that.

Best regards

Gavin

Hi Gavin, yes your right pugh had 2x 611 2x 621 2x 631 plus excavators but I believe oil leaks and expensive parts put an end to them ! Thompsons of prudhoe had a 631 for a while but I think the lads didn't like it and it was 1.5T To heavy for the scow Enders.
The only other one I knew of in the N.E was a 621 owned by Glendale but I think they were bought by Gordons

That's quite surprising about Owen Pugh having so many. I knew they had a fairly large presence here in the North East (certainly used to see alot more of them than I do these days) but to have that many Liebherr track loaders is quite a shock really! :o Its also interesting to note that as soon as I saw more Cat 943/953 sized machines, the Liebherr's pretty much vanished.

Has anyone ever seen a 641 in the UK? I don't have the spec's of that one to hand at the moment but surely that's somewhere near 973 sized?

Best regards

Gavin
