Hi Everyone,

I've been browsing the web and found this site, what a mass of usefull info. When I was a lad (a long time ago) I spent all my time with my uncle, used to ride along in an old Thames trader truck with him. Then he became JCB digger driver. He started in a 3C, then moved to 3Dmk2, then the 3D with opening front bucket, then came the 6D, and finally he used the largest JCB we saw on the island, a 7B. I decided I would like to restore and old 3D Mk2 a while back, but as yet havent found one. The wife's not too keen, because I've done cars and bikes before but a JCB is going to be a long affair! Anyway thanks for allowing me to join the site, I'm afraid at this point I have no info of any value to add. But I'm going to enjoy reading the information already here. Thanks again. Mark

You say you are on "The Island" would that be the Isle of Wight by any chance ?

Hi Nick, No. I'm down in Guernsey, Channel Islands. Hence the problem in finding a 3D!

Went on a couple of school trips there many moons ago .....L' anncresse or something like that !!

Yep, All my family on my fathers side would go to L'ancresse beach every sunday during the summer. Hope you enjoyed your visit's. Thanks for the welcome too :thumbup:
