JCB Jaw bucket.....

Post #1 by Joes1989 » Sat Oct 02, 2010 5:45 pm

Hi guys,

I saw in the 3CX eco topic that JCB have a jaw bucket option...having never seen one im interested as to what it is? Is it loader or backhoe mounted? Does anyone have any pictures of it?

Am i being really thick and its the 4 in 1?

Cheers

Joe

To be fair, you dont see them that often, its a bucket to go on the back end, and opens up, kind of like the 6 in one on the front.

To be honest it would be a handy piece of kit, but i think the idear of a thumb is more appealing, and probably more productive.

lol, i do see what your saying with the thumb issue being american, but a grapple is great for demo matirials, but a thumb is handy to have when using a bucket and lifting tarmac, especially when you get a slab just a little too large for the bucket, used one on a 3cx once at the factory and im surprised that they are not more popular over here.....mind you, just goes to show, us british guys know how to operate a machine better than the yanks as we dont need a thumb to keep the matirial in the bucket!!!!

I no there's a knack 2 pickin up tar that's the type of work I do most of the time digging up tar and kerbs and laying street lighting ducts then reinstating. The jaw bucket would be handy for picking up kerbs and digging road crossings am I right in thinking the hoses would connect to hammer pipes?then would that mean you would lose the use of the extra dig?
