Hi Guru's
Im new
I have recently added a 1964 JCB 2C to my vintage collection (hardly a collection yet as this is my second vehicle - have an old Zenoh / Kubota also)
Ive been scouring the internet for more information on this and have come up empty apart from the odd owners hand book which is sketchy to say the least - done a bit of reading up on history and its not really mentioned that much in the time line of JCBs past?
I have read that there was a JCB 2 and a 2D but nothing about a 2C??? and have also read that there wasn't a 2C ever made?? which made me think I had made a mistake but on double checking It is clearly stamped up as a 2C!!
It has the good old Ford d engine and she needs a little bit of love to say the least but im excited to be rolling up the sleeves and getting her back up to scratch - the old girl is fully functional with the odd seeps and weeps of hydraulic oil, the engine is a little smokey on start up but hasn't missed a beat yet.
Anyone with any information or insight would be helping me out immensely?
I have seen the down load sections that there is information on the JCB 2 but cannot open it for some reason?
I hope you are all well and everything is crossed that there might be someone out there with the same machine who could bounce ideas off of

Re: 1964 JCB 2C?
Hi Tom and welcome to CMN Just had a quick look in a couple of reference books that I possess and there is no record of a 2C; there was a JCB 2B and 2D made between 1962 and 1968 you may have a one off or prototype? Have you got the serial number?
There are quite a few JCB guru's on here that should be able to help you out; I will ask Holger to look at the download section, did you actually manage to download the file?

similar to this 1964 3c I came across.
same shape front loader and side entry step. but different shape cab and your rear actor arm shape is the same as my 1963 3.

Hi Jeremy - there is a plate I found with some strange serial number but part of it is the date it was registered anyways - see pic
Bit of a weird one, from what I can gather - she is mostly a 2B with the old ford d engine - the back hoe is effectively that of a 3c with a few pin differences but im suspecting this is where a "mod" has been made at some point in its life?
on the downloads - cant seem to get anything to work? there is a big red Off button to the right of the text on each download stating I have no rights to download??
Loving the shinny red bucket Chris - just bought myself a new blast pot for solely renovating my new toy.

Where is it plated a JCB 2C? Your digger looks no different to any JCB 2 or 2B that I have seen. From the serial number I would guess its a actually a JCB 2 with no detachanble back actor. Does your back actor with sliding rails and jack legs demount?
